A graduation ceremony is an event where the commencement speaker tells thousands of students dressed in identical caps and gowns that 'individuality' is the key to success."
-Robert Orben
I find this quite amusing.Moving on.
I've been going out quite alot lately. not that I mind, since the time I don't spend outside of Melawati, I spend cooping up in my room catching up with the season 7 of Grey's Anatomy(I've recently completed the whole season) which I also don't mind, since the episodes have been really, really, great.
BBQ at Nabil's house
We planned this quite a long time ago. Well, I didn't Ikhmal and Nabil did. Pretty enthusiastic lads when it comes to this. I was just in the picture when they keep asking, " Boleh tak we do it on (insert date)?" and they kept on saying how all 3 of us had to be present on the day every time I go, " mehh, you guys go ahead-lah" such wonderful friends they are :) It finally happened last Thursday.
I wasn't sure of the things they have bought prior to that day, and I KNOW how much work it takes to plan a party that revolves around a BBQ. So, I was kinda amused when I found out that they have gotten everything prepared beforehand. I sound like such a slob, haha I know. The mum even made Tiramisu- which was so good when I ate it later at night. Reached his house, and all 3 of us went to the kitchen and helped out with the cooking, and the baking, and the laughing, messing and goofing around.
In the process, we did baked potatoes, garlic bread, fried rice( Chef Ikhmal) and Nabil's backyard was turned into the BBQ/eating area. The evening was made more exciting when I found out a really good news, which I'll blog about very soon, don't worry! So, yeah, we ate, we laughed, and had a blast the whole night. It became a little bittersweet in the end, since the BBQ that we 3 have been talking about has come to an end, there's nothing else to look forward to.
2. Lunch with Dee and Eli
One of my good friends/neighbour, Dee, enrolled in UIAM just recently, and I was too busy to have a farewell lunch back when she was still around. So, when she came back last weekend, I though, "eh, why not?" and Eli, Dee, and I went out for lunch at Delicious during the weekend. I swear to god, they might not have the best food, but the ambiance is just so calming and designed perfectly. Makes you just want to sit there and not get up.
None of us could drive YET, so we had to take the taxi there.
The place was pretty empty when we got there- Lunch hour is the best time to go there- which created qualms as to where we were going to sit. Even changed tables twice -____-"
My chicken burger. Gosh, was it good. Above is the most decent picture of it, since all of us were too hungry to even snap shots of it. Only after half of the burger is gone, then only was I like " oh, crap"
We talked and talked our way through the entire lunch, but basically, I wanted to know how UIAM's orientation week would be like. For some reason, we all played charades. 3 of us -__-" and there were people sitting around us. but hey, that's the fun part right? Not caring what others are thinking, or sneering as long as you're having a good time :) Oh, WAIT, nowww i remember why we started playing that. That's because I showed them this Modern Family video. Watch it, guys, it's seriously funny! Sofia Vergara is super talented, I tell you!
MEATBALLS!
But of course, the highlight of the lunch had to be the dessert that each of us had, which was drool-worthy. We all couldn't agree on what to have, so we came up with a solution: Got 3 individual desserts, asked for a gazillion spoons, and tasted each one. :D For each bite, the only thing I could think of was "there goes the gym session" haha! But it was totally worth it.
Banoffee Pie
Sticky Date Pudding
Blackforest in a Glass
I was so full by the time we finished our desserts. Hanged out around there for a while, and went to KLCC's KinoKuniya to submerge ourselves in the piles of books before heading home.
Books and Food make for a really good combination; it sure made my day
I have a few things planned out for this week also, so I should be back soon enough. I shall end this post with the most random pic I took otw home.
I am from a mixed parentage background. Hence, the Chinese looks with the Malay name. About to enter a new phase in life, and am as excited as I am nervous about it. Started this to keep intact of some precious memory, so that I could have a laugh or two when I'm old and cranky.
