Direct translation: Studying abroad. Pfft, let me be fancy. It goes with the story.
A week ago, Syahidah FB and messaged me, telling me that she was having a small get together at her house, since she's leaving to US to further her studies there. So, last Thursday, I got myself to Tiara Kemensah even though I really didn't know who was going to be there. SO, here's the thing, Syahidah is a close friend of mine when I was in form 3, but later on, she shifted to another school for her upper secondary education and thus, we didn't meet alot after that.
Truth be told, I wasn't even sure of going, but up until the last minute, I thought, "Hey, when I leave to go somewhere in the future, god's willing, I would want all my friends to be there". So, I went.
Being quite early, I sat with a few guys whom I recognised as Syahidah's friends. One of them looked really familiar, but I really couldn't pinpoint his name until after he started talking to me. Biasalah, guna taktik, " Hi, how are you doing, lama tak nampak?" until I remembered his name. And surprisingly, further into the conversation, he told me he reads my blog. (Hi, Izhar, if you're reading!)
Usually, I don't eat much at night, but I certainly couldn't resist the Nasi Beriyani, lamb, fried chicken, and sate that was served that night. A good dinner that was. Like I said, I rarely do meet her, so when Syahidah was being her usual loud, funny self, I couldn't help but smile, remembering the times in my form 3 class, when she was...
....PRACTICALLY THE SAME! HO YEAH YOU COULD HEAR HER FROM ACROSS THE BLOCK! :D
Anyways, some of my other close friends came that night and we chatted, shared stories, and laughed at some.

Something funny occurred that night. By 10, 3 of us were already getting up, preparing to go back, taking pictures, wishing her the best of luck, the girls were hugging it out, and the guys standing awkwardly at a corner, and we walked to the door. Did I mention, that Syahidah has a sister who is so "2 x 5" like her? Not to mention, super hilarious, in a straight forward, no holding back manner.
We ended up standing just a few feet from the doorway, laughing our asses off at all their experiences, and the stories of them when they went overseas for holidays, and the possibilities of things that can and might happen when Syahidah is at the States, and also the most random stuffs. There were also some of her other guy friends there, and one of them is to be heading to France soon for engineering, so, yeah, we heard him speak French.
Note to self: There is nothing overrated when a Malay guy/girl speaks French. It's such a beautiful language!I wouldn't even re-write the jokes of the night, because this is one of those cases where you had to be present to really enjoy the moment. Oh, and we went back 1 1/4 hours later :)
Amal was very kind to drive me back( I know, no license, don't rub it in my face) and her driving was so "safe" i kept shouting at every corner she took-she ran a red light, what do you expect!! :D.Much like when Nabil drives. Haha. After all that chaos, in the car, we were talking, and it hit me that, you know, this is just one of the first few send offs that will lead the many goodbyes that is soon to come, either in months, or in years. It's just really funny, that exactly one year ago, we were in high school, and now, they're on a soon to be adventure of their life abroad.
SO, to both Syahidah and Fahim(who is also already in the US by now, both in the same university, HOW COOL IS THAT?!), I wish you both the best of luck in your studies, may Allah bless you, may you study hard and smart, and at times,
play hard too ;)

So, who's next?!
