He's almost always punctual, if not all the time. 4.00 sharp,(whether I'm ready or still rushing to bath-yes,I've been late for tuition at my own house) he'll ring the bell,or knock the door, and start teaching a group of 5 of us add maths, for 2 hours straight. Then, he goes back. and, the routine comes full cycle every Thursday.
But today, today was different. just as he was about to sit down, he mentioned that..
"today will be the last class" and started teaching.
I'm not sure about the others, but in between that period, I day dreamt a little( which he was quick enough to ask me to pay attention = ="). How is he gonna end class? . Mr. Gopalan is a very mysterious person, coz he shows up, teaches, and leaves.I never knew where he lives, or how he gets here.he just does.MARY POPPINS FTW.
It literally felt like yesterday(Literally, as in not the kind of situation where you say "literally felt like yesterday" just for the fun of it, and that it is already a million light years away) that we were building a group of 5 to start classes ASAP in Jan,
and after so many stupid mistakes, so many times Nicole freaking out at the sight of my monstrous cat, the weirdly funny jokes he comes up with, the looks that we all give each other when we pretend to answer a question but actually couldn't(countless times) and how he calls all of us by terms like "darling" and "sayang" = ="-yeah, we all got used to that,if you were wondering,
it just ended.
Bittersweet it was. he gave us a mini pep-talk like all other teachers do, and for some reason, cliche or otherwise, we not just hear, but listen to pep-talks as a kind of motivation/remedy for what's ahead.

When he left, the air was left a little gloom, and it was raining, which made it even more. Then realisation hits me.
By next Monday, school is officially ending, other tuition classes are ending, we'll be arranging the chairs and tables in the hall, leaving the hall to be filled with an air of suspense until SPM starts.

this is just the beginning to the end.
